Abstract

The metaphors of the butterfly - one well-known in chaos theory, the other one used in the title of this article plus an example from the author’s experience will integrate current wisdom research and recent infant research into psycho-synthesis, into a developmental path of the power of realization which – in its highest form – is called wisdom. Such development cannot consist exclusively in gaining and expanding specific mental knowledge and abilities, but will always demand transformation in the sense of compression, of self-transcendence, of synthesis. Insights from infant research enhance that the human ability of consciousness contains the nuclei for all possible future development of wisdom, which is most desirable for the art of living, from the very beginning.
