From the departure into a culture of humane becoming

Abstract

The article critically examines the current health care system and its perversion to the „booming health care economy“. By reorienting the former „health care system“ about two decades ago in the sense of the industrial goods production and consequently subjecting the treatment of people in a critical life situation to economic (profit) calculations, a politically promoted social system was created, which is no longer oriented on being human and its dignified development („becoming“), but on the production of as much „disease“ and „health“ as possible as commodities. In the „somatomedical model“ man is understood as matter and treated accordingly. In such a system, however, people do not „feel“ well, not „completely“ perceived. The „health economy“ system thus produces incessant and inevitable („chronic“) suffering, which in turn is fed into the system as a „disease“ in the sense of commodity logic and becomes a pretext for further diagnostic and therapeutic services with profit opportunities. - On this slide, the author develops the proposal for a new social system, the „Becoming System“, with (currently) 5 guiding ideas: (1) „Becoming“ in the sense of the unfolding of the unique human potential, (2) priority with „existential basic situations“ instead of the invention of „diseases“, (3) orientation towards the common good, (4) orientation towards a post-growth economy, (5) the necessity of consciousness formation. The professional activity of Becoming Accompaniment (Werdens-Begleitung) experiences the indispensable theoretical foundation in a new cultural social system, oriented towards the humanum, i.e. primarily towards the dignity of the human being, the becoming system, in order not to become attached to the siren sounds of the „health economy“ and (unintentionally) to contribute to the cementing of the current social system.
