The Science of Witnessing: A quantum approach
Abstract
Features of the witnessing-act that are difficult to understand in terms of conventional psychological and philosophical discourse are now examined in terms of quantum theory, which describes the fundamental behavior of matter and energy. In this paper the author proposes that aspects of quantum mechanics and of a newly proposed quantum social theory are essential for analyses and interpretation of witnessing. The proposal itself is a good example of interdisciplinary research between quantum physics and metaphysics and intra-active dialogue between scientific theory and contemplative practice. The aim of this research and dialogue is to establish “the science of witnessing” in order to bring the witnessing-act as a tool for transformative education to the world.
