Egolessness through hypnosis and psychedelics
Abstract
Although our rational Western culture upholds the value of a strong ego structure, deconstructing, entropic mental states are an essential prerequisite for increased creativity and healing reorientation and realignment. This means that both the ego structure and other rigid mental structures are temporarily dissolved. This can be achieved with religious-spiritual practices, but also with methods of hypnosis induction and some psychoactive substances. In terms of psychedelics, there are active substances, such as MDMA, which promote experiences of connectedness, and others, such as DMT or LSD, which enable a blurring of boundaries and expanded perception. This article discusses the mode of action of these methods, their areas and limits of application.
