Abstract

The interest of social science in research on people after retirement has grown rapidly. At present this life period could be as long as the time on the job. Especially the “young oldies” between age 60 and 80 are moved by basic life questions like: Who or what am I? Where or to whom do I belong to? What can I still accomplish? Where do I want to go? The social and psychological research at hand is analysed under the perspective of helping people answer their questions. The spiritual dimension of being present shows the way of connecting information and cognitive analysis with actual and concrete experience.
